Encounter. Grow. Equip.

BELIEVE WEEKEND is a high-energy, Christ-centered experience created to help students encounter Jesus, be shaped by His Word, and step more fully into the life God is calling them to live. Through worship, teaching, small groups, and shared experiences, students are invited to move from simply knowing about God to trusting Him, following Him, and living on mission. Students return home encouraged and challenged with a deeper love for Jesus.

FAQs

Where do I drop off and pick up my student?
Students who are being dropped off can enter through the main foyer in the front of the church by the Main Sanctuary doors. On Thursday night and Friday night, students will be picked up from the Pavilion in the back of the church after our late-night activities. Saturday will dismiss from the Main Sanctuary.
When is the registration deadline?
There is no registration deadline. Students are able to sign up and attend any part of the weekend until the event is over! This is a benefit of returning back to Oakwood for Believe Weekend.
Why did you move away from the overnight retreat format?
We made this change to better serve students and families by lowering costs, increasing safety and accessibility, reducing logistical strain, and allowing more volunteers to participate—while still preserving the heart and impact of the weekend.
What is the theme this year?
The theme is KINGDOM COME, rooted in Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6. The focus is on helping students understand what it means to enter, live in, and bring God’s kingdom in their everyday lives and the lives of those around them.
What will students learn or experience spiritually?
Students will be invited to worship freely, engage with God’s Word, and grow in community with one another. Through sessions, small group discussions, and topical breakouts, students will be challenged to think biblically about how to live boldly for Jesus in their own lives, in their relationships with one another, and in the communities that they are involved in.
Who will be supervising students?
Oakwood Student Ministry staff and trained volunteers will be present throughout the entire weekend to supervise, lead groups, and care for students.
What safety measures are in place?
Our Oakwood Response Team volunteers will be present on campus to monitor the security and safety of the event throughout the weekend.
What should students bring?
Bring a Bible, water bottle, and something to write with.
What should students NOT bring?
Do not bring any laptops, iPad, gaming systems, alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, weapons (knives, guns, airsoft guns, etc…).
