What is Bold Mission?
These are exciting times here at Oakwood! The building of a new facility is of great urgency for the future of our mission to reach others with the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ. We must provide more spaces for people to come to worship to fulfill this mission. It is obvious to us all, that New Braunfels is continuing to grow. Our population is now over 100,000. Those who are here and the many who are to come need to hear the truth of Jesus Christ.
Bold Mission includes building the following:
- 1,800 seat auditorium that will serve as our new Worship Center
- 11 additional Children’s Ministry classrooms (four of those dedicated to Mark 9, our Special Needs Ministry)
- 602 additional parking spaces
This is a massive, bold undertaking that will require all of us to participate in a sacrificial way. Oakwood’s new Worship Center will stand as a great testimony to the glory of God in this community. People’s eternal lives will be changed by coming to salvation in Jesus and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.

What is the total cost of the new facility?
The price we are currently working with estimates $29 million.
Will Oakwood still have 3 worship service times in the new facility?
Yes, we will have the same Sunday schedule: 8:00am, 9:30am, & 11:00am
What is the size of the new facility?
The size of the new facility will be 52,115 square feet which will include an 1,800 seat auditorium, 7 additional classrooms for the Children’s Ministry, and 4 additional classrooms for Mark 9, our Special Needs Ministry.
How much parking will be added?
602 parking spaces will be added, plus additional handicapped parking spaces; this will give us a total amount of 1,579 parking spaces. Due to the increased size of the property, we are also evaluating how to best provide assistance for those who need help getting from their cars to the building.
What will the current Worship Center be used for?
The current Main Worship Center will be converted to fellowship and special events space. A kitchen will eventually be added, but this is not included in the Bold Mission campaign.
When will construction begin?
We hope initial construction will begin in Spring 2025.
Where is the placement of the new facility?
The new building will be attached to the front of the present Children’s Building and connected to the Children’s Atrium on the 1st and 2nd floor.
When does my pledge to Bold Mission start and for how long?
You will start giving your pledge on February 1, 2025, and we are asking that you make a 3-year commitment.
What should I do if circumstances in my life alter my pledge?
We understand your life’s circumstances can change for the better or worse; if this occurs, we would ask that you prayerfully consider how to adjust your pledge to the church. Please let the church office know of any future adjustments to your financial contribution regarding Bold Mission.
